NEW DIRECTION, NEW BEGINNINGS

Many of us get up every morning, put our feet on the floor and sigh. We seem to be stuck in a bit of a rut. Of course there are many of us who are very happy and content with where we are and what we have and that's a good thing.

I love the new commercials where one person says; "I just want to pay off my mortgage sooner." And the other person, says, "If you want to pay off your mortgage, then, pay off your mortgage". It does sound so simple doesn't it? Yet we sit and cry about where we are in life instead of simply doing something about it.

Many of you know that I have been self-employed since the mid 70's and over that period of time I have been involved in several ventures and adventures. Some of them have been fantastic and others have been less than fantastic. But the key is that I didn't sit around singing that old song, "Poor Me."

We all have choices. We can sit and cry or we can start fresh in a new direction; the choice is ours. Take out a piece of paper and answer this question for me...if money was no object, what would you want to be doing right this minute? And I don't mean sitting around watching TV and drinking a beer. I want to know what your passion is.

Now, unless you want something that is simply not attainable such as me at age 63 wanting to play pro football (hey maybe I could do it...never know), then I have a very simple question for you; WHY ARE YOU NOT DOING IT? Or, I will make it easier for you, why are you not making the moves toward doing it?

I have been really blessed. I am doing what I really want to do and any new directions I go in are to fine tune who I am and what I want. I always feel bad for those of you who are just going through the motions and not being the person you were meant to be.

Promise me, if you are unhappy with the situation that you are currently in, today will be the last day that you will say, think or act as a victim. Walk in a new direction so you can have a new beginning. Do not put this off and do not say that you can't - simply do it. Do it today. The choice is yours.

A new direction brings new adventure...be part of that adventure. You have only one life, live it to the fullest.

YOUR DREAM FOR THEM SHOULD BE THE SAME DREAM FOR YOURSELF

From the moment your children are born you have hopes and dreams for them. You want to give them the world. You want them to be happy, healthy and successful. You want them to grow to be respectful and respected people. You want them to wake up everyday with nothing but a smile and a bounce in their step. You will teach them how to be everything they were meant to be and you will stand back and glow with pride.

But what about you...don't you want that for yourself too?

If you wake up everyday with a sigh, then you are not teaching your child all those things you want for them. You are not living your dream. You are not leading by example.

Show your child how you follow your dreams and live life being truly happy. Don't settle for things that you would never teach your child to settle for. Show them that you are everything you were meant to be. Show them that you are successful in whatever you choose to do in life.

Life is too short to hate Mondays. If you don't live your life the way you dream it for your child then neither of you will go anywhere. Show them how wonderful life can be when you live your dream!
