Volume 3, Issue 6, June 2004
ELECTION TIME
On June 28, 2004 , Canada will decide who will govern the country for the next four to five years. I am sure by now you all know that I am seeking a seat in this election. Because I am out everyday pounding the pavement I have not had time to think about this month’s Caravan. So, I thought that I would just send this simple short one about getting involved and making sure you vote.
Of course those of you who live in St. Catharines I would love to have your vote. If you need some information about my campaign, log on to my campaign web site. www.elected.ca If you are going to vote for one of the other candidates, that’s OK…I’ll still send you the Caravan *smile*. The key is to vote. It is one of the most important rights we have as Canadians.
Local Debates…
June 16…7 to 9…COGECOTV…channel 10…live phone in.
June 22…7 to 9…Quality Inn on Ontario St…open to general public.
June 24… noon to 1…CKTB 610 AM…live phone in.
I have many Muslim friends and during the last election when they saw that only 29% voted municipally, they could not believe it…many of them fled their country because of tyranny and can’t wait until they get their citizenship and have the right to vote. They have a hard time wondering why most of us don’t vote.
Anyway…I just hope that you go out and exercise your right to vote.
Take care and I will tell you what this experience was like in the July Caravan.
Peace…
Ted
Humphry says…
“If you don’t vote, you lost your right to complain.”
