The Mouradian Group Inc.
Anti-Harassment and Anti-Discrimination Policy
The Mouradian Group Inc. and its employees adhere to the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) which states that every person has the right to freedom from discrimination because of:
“Race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship, creed, sex, sexual orientation, age, family and marital status, same-sex partnership status, disability, or record of offences.”
It is the policy of The Mouradian Group to recognize the dignity and worth of every person and to provide equal rights and opportunities without discrimination. The Mouradian Group seeks to create a climate of understanding and mutual respect so that each person feels like a part of the team and is able to contribute fully to the development and well being of The Mouradian Group community. It is our goal that the composition of The Mouradian Group employees, volunteers and clients reflect the diversity of the community we serve.
Harassing or discriminatory behaviour will NOT be tolerated. Such behaviour includes written or spoken comments as well as overt actions. It includes unwelcome remarks, jokes, innuendos or taunting about a person’s racial or ethnic background, colour, sex, place of birth, citizenship, ancestry, cultural differences, sexual orientation, family or marital status, or disability. It also includes the displaying or e-mailing of racist, sexist, derogatory or offensive pictures and materials.
Bullying in the workplace will also NOT be tolerated. Bullying is persistent personal abuse which humiliates and demeans an individual. This includes personal insults and name calling, persistent criticism, spreading of malicious rumours, ignoring or excluding and constant undervaluing of someone’s efforts. Verbal and emotional abuse undermines self-confidence causing morale and productivity to drop.
It is understood that to work as a Mouradian Group employee, volunteer or to participate as a client, you accept and endorse the above.
