Bill 168, the amendment to the Occupational Health & Safety Act with respect to VIOLENCE AND HARASSMENT IN THE WORKPLACE, passed legislation on December 15, 2009. It requires all employers who follow the OHSA to be in compliance with the Act as of June 15, 2010.
Under the Act, an employer must develop policies and programs, conduct a risk assessment and provide information and instruction to all workers in order to protect them against violence and harassment in the workplace, including domestic violence.
